Is Marxism a dead dogma, or a useful prism through which to understand the world? The Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the dissolution of the Soviet Union within the next few years may have marked the death knell for communism in Europe but can this also be taken as proof of the failure or irrelevance of all socialist or revolutionary experiences? -Is communism across the world still a viable alternative to liberal democracy? Or are capitalism's inherent conflicts in fact solved by the welfare state?-Is there class struggle anymore?
